How we help you grow your own food.

We are an extension of you and fulfill your need to feed yourself from your own land.

For the same price as paying a landscaper to cut your grass, we will maintain your produce farm and do all the work for you, from planting to harvest.  Assuming full harvests, you will be producing your weekly produce needs from your own land, saving your grocery costs.  And your excess harvests will feed those in the community that need it most, so nothing goes to waste.

How often does the farmer come to my home to take care of my farm?

Your farmers will will visit your garden weekly to manage all aspects of your food cultivation.  At this time we will undergo:

  • Weed control;
  • Harvesting ripe produce, unless you instruct us otherwise. We encourage you to harvest certain crops yourself before preparing and eating them so you can experience just-picked homegrown greens.
  • Check your water system, and retune the irrigation for weather;
  • Fertilizing where needed;
  • Rotating crops, replacing plants as they're harvested, and doing any additional planting necessary;
  • Using preventative and reactive pest control as necessary; and
  • Responding to garden crises as they occur.

When we leave, your freshly harvested field cleaned vegetables will be waiting for you at your back door.  We can provide you a box or basket, although a cooler prestocked with ice is preferable.
And once a week the community’s excess bounty will be made available to all members of the ohana to be shared.

What if I want to do it myself but need help?

We encourage you to get involved in the growing of your own food.  We want you to connect with your land and see what it can produce for you.  So if you prefer to maintain the farm yourself, we can work with you to make that possible.  You can be involved as little or as much as you like. We can either scale back our visits to a monthly basis to coincide with your needs, or we can provide a consulting program with visits to your farm to work side by side with you.  Our farmers are trained to educate and engage with you around growing food and maintaining a successful vegetable garden, so if preferred, these visits can be scheduled to coincide at a time when you, your family, and your children are home and can join in and learn.  Learn how to grow a successful sustainable organic garden, or just choose what you’d like planted and enjoy the weekly harvest of veggies, herbs, and flowers.

Farm topics that we can teach you --

  • Soil types, testing, and amendments
  • Organic pest and disease control
  • Garden planning
  • Crop rotation
  • Succession planting
  • Trellising
  • Weed control
  • Transplants verses seeding
  • Cover cropping
  • Compost management
  • Vegetable School
  • … and so much more

How much is all this going to cost me?

Maintenance fees start at as little as $40 per week, and include all plants and seeds, natural fertilizers, organic pest/fungal management, and any relevant structures or materials that are needed.   Of course, depending on the size of your garden plot and your specific needs, we can customize a maintenance plan that works for you and your family.

Do you believe you can do most of the ongoing maintenance yourself, but would like a helping hand?  Mentoring might be the way to go.  We can offer a 6-month Mentoring program consisting of once a month visits to work with you and answer any questions you might have.  Our mentors will come equipped with plants, seeds, and fertilizer based on the goals that you have set out together.  6-month packages start as low as $300.

If you don’t think you need an ongoing maintenance service or mentoring, but just want to reconfirm your own thoughts on design and/or jumpstarting your garden, our Consultation fees start at $55 for an hour visit and on-site assessment.  This might include examination of your vegetable, fruit and ornamental plantings, leaving you recommendations on composting systems and locations, suggestions for nurseries, materials, or suppliers, etc…
Do you just want someone to create a garden for you and you’ll take over from there?  We can create raised beds that are ready to grow.  It can be as simple as a “lasagna” layered raised bed, as basic as hardwood framed beds, or as sturdy as corrugated steel beds.  With your design input on materials, sizes, and needs, we will organize everything required to create the garden of your dreams.  Seeds and seedlings, labels, irrigation systems, support structures – we can do it all for you.  Prices for a complete system start as little as $150.
